Appendix A. LISTING OF LOCAL LAWS

Latest version.
  • The following is a listing of local acts relating to the county. Excluded from this list are acts pertaining exclusively to municipal corporations and acts relating to the airport authority. Also excluded are population acts. Most of the population acts assumed ordinance status pursuant to Laws of Fla. ch. 71-29; those that did not are of doubtful validity. See Fla. Const. art. III, § 11(b), Vance v. Ruppel, 215 So. 2d 309 (Fla. 1968). No attempt has been made to account for ordinance amendments to acts.

Acts that only amend or repeal other acts are listed with the acts they amend or repeal.

Unless stated otherwise, all references are to chapters of the Laws of Florida.

Fla. Const. art. VIII, § 1(g) provides that chartered counties "shall have all powers of local self-government not inconsistent with general law, or with special law approved by vote of the electors." Such subsection also provided that a county governing body of a chartered county may enact ordinances "not inconsistent with general law."

The code comparative table shows the location of acts in the Code. Most acts have assumed ordinance status by virtue of their inclusion in the Code.
