§ 12-32. Administration.

  • (A)

    The County Administrator shall have the responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day administration of this chapter and franchise agreements. The County Administrator shall be empowered to take all administrative actions on behalf of the County, except for those actions specified in this chapter that are reserved to the Board. The County Administrator may recommend that the Board take certain actions with respect to any franchise. The County Administrator shall keep the Board apprised of developments in cable TV matters and provide the Board with assistance, advice and recommendations as appropriate.

    (B)

    To the extent permitted by federal law, the Board shall have the sole authority to regulate rates for cable services, grant or not grant franchises, authorize the entering into of franchise agreements, modify franchise agreements, renew or deny renewal of franchises, revoke franchises, and authorize or not authorize the transfer of a franchise.
