§ 17-289. Conflict of interest.

  • Neither the chief of purchasing and contracts nor any member of his/her staff, nor any other employee of the county engaged in the procurement of goods and/or services, shall be financially interested or have any personal beneficial interest, directly or indirectly, in any purchase or contract of any supplies, materials, equipment or services used by or furnished to the county. Such conflict of interest may include, but may not be limited to, an individual or ownership, in whole or in part, of a firm seeking to contract with the county.

    The chief of purchasing and contracts, every member of his/her staff and any other employee of the county engaged in the procurement of goods and/or services are prohibited from accepting or receiving from any person, firm or corporation to which any purchase or contract may be awarded any money, rebate, gift or anything of value or any promise, obligation or contract for future reward or compensation.
