§ 17-329. Minority/women business enterprise advisory committee.
(a)
The board shall establish and appoint seven (7) voting members to the minority/women business enterprise advisory committee to serve in an advisory capacity to the compliance officer and the board on issues related to minority/women business enterprises. Further, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Asian Chamber of Commerce, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the National Association of Women in Construction, the Associated Builders and Contractors and the Associated General Contractors may each designate one (1) person for appointment by the county mayor to the minority/women business enterprise advisory committee as a nonvoting member. Unless approved otherwise by vote of five (5) or more members of the board, the fourteen (14) members shall be Orange County residents.
(b)
The minority/women business enterprise advisory committee may act as an initial hearing committee for appeals of certification denials as provided for in certification guidelines implementing this ordinance and other policies.
