§ 19-9. Violations; penalties and remedies.

  • (1)

    Violation of the provisions of this chapter or failure to comply with any of its requirements, including violation of any resolutions adopted hereunder, or of any conditions and safeguards established in connection with the grant of a variance, may be punished as provided in section 1-9 of the County Code. Any person who violates any provision of this chapter, or any provision of any resolution enacted pursuant to the authority of this chapter, or allows a violation to continue, may be prosecuted before the code enforcement board or special master in accordance with chapter 11. Each day such violation continues shall be considered a separate offense.

    (2)

    Nothing herein shall prevent the county from taking any other legal or equitable remedy available to it, including, without limitation, injunctive relief or revocation of any permit involved, as is necessary to prevent or remedy any violation.

    (3)

    Any person violating this chapter shall be liable for all costs incurred by the county in connection with the enforcement hereof, including without limitation, attorneys' fees. Fees will be charged for reinspections necessary to verify correction of a violation.
