§ 20-28. Membership; term, oath.

  • There shall be five (5) persons designated as members of said authority for the respective terms prescribed below:

    One (1) member shall serve for one (1) year;

    One (1) member shall serve for two (2) years;

    One (1) member shall serve for three (3) years;

    Two (2) members shall serve for four (4) years.

    Thereafter, the board of county commissioners shall appoint, for terms of four (4) years each, a member or members to succeed those whose terms expire. All members shall serve until a successor is appointed and has qualified. Each of the terms above described shall commence upon the initial meeting of said authority, and at said initial meeting each member of the authority shall take and subscribe the oath or affirmation required by the state constitution. A record of each such oath shall be filed in the office of the secretary of state and with the county clerk of the board of county commissioners.
