§ 23-26. Short title, authority and applicability.
(a)
This article shall be known and may be cited as the "Orange County Law Enforcement Impact Fee Ordinance."
(b)
The board of county commissioners has authority to adopt this article through general charter county home rule powers pursuant to Fla. Const. art. VIII, § 1(g) and F.S. chs. 30, 125 and 163 and the county charter.
(c)
Planning for additional capital improvements needed to serve new growth and development that generate additional demands on law enforcement and the implementation of these needs is a responsibility of the county under F.S. ch. 163, pt. II [F.S. 163.3161 et seq.], and is in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the county.
