§ 29-28. Designation of certain parks and facilities as pay parks; authorizing fee for usage thereof.

Latest version.
  • (a)

The board of county commissioners may, from time to time, by resolution passed at any duly called meeting of the board of county commissioners, designate any or all of the county parks, as "pay parks," and may set a fee to be charged to the general public for the admission into such pay parks.

    (b)

Such admission fee may be established on the basis of number of people seeking admission, the age of people seeking admission, the days of the week upon which admission is sought, and/or whether such people seek admission into a pay park by means of motor vehicle or other means of transportation. Such fees shall be termed "admission fees."

    (c)

The criteria to be utilized by the board of county commissioners in the computation of admission fees as authorized by subsection (a) herein shall be the expense incurred by the county for the purchase and/or maintenance of the park for the entrance or use of which a fee is assessed by the board of county commissioners and the duration or frequency of entrance by an entrant into any certain pay park for which an admission fee is assessed.

    (d)

All admission fees established by the board of county commissioners shall be reasonably related to the criteria recited hereinabove.
