§ 31.5-71. Roof signs.

  • (a)

    Roof signs may be permitted in any zoning district, except (subject to section 31.5-141) residential districts.

    (b)

    The maximum height of any roof sign shall be fifteen (15) feet. The height of any roof sign shall be measured from the base of the roof on which it is erected to the top of the sign face.

    (c)

    A roof sign shall be erected only on a building which is at least fifty (50) feet in height.

    (d)

    A maximum number of one (1) roof sign shall be permitted per principal building(s) on a parcel.

    (e)

    The maximum allowable copy area of any roof sign shall be two hundred (200) square feet.

    (f)

    The sign structure of any roof sign shall not be visible from any public right-of-way.

    (g)

    Neither a roof sign nor its sign structure shall extend beyond any wall of the building on which it is erected.

    (h)

    A roof sign shall not rotate.
