§ 33-134. Special taxes; levy, amount, custody.

  • The board shall have the power to annually assess, levy and collect a special tax upon the lands in the district, which special tax shall be in addition to all other taxes levied and assessed for state and county purposes, provided that taxes shall not be levied, assessed and collected in an amount in excess of one (1) mill on the total assessed valuation of the lands within the district and the valuation of the land shall be determined by the valuation established by the Tax Assessor [now Property Appraiser] of Orange County, Florida, for lands within said district.

    The board shall collect and keep the said tax in a separate fund to be known as the "Windermere Water and Navigation Control District Fund."
