§ 35-3. Surcharge for moving traffic violations.

(a)

Assessment of surcharge. In addition to any other penalty authorized by the State Uniform Traffic Control Law, F.S. ch. 316, there is hereby assessed a twelve-dollar-and fifty-cent surcharge for every moving traffic violation in the county.

(b)

Collection and disposition of funds. The clerk of the court of the county is authorized and directed to collect the surcharge and to distribute such funds monthly to the county comptroller.

(c)

Use of funds. The funds generated by the assessment under F.S. § 316.655(6) shall be used for purposes required by law.

(d)

Clerk's administrative fee. The clerk of the court shall retain fifty cents ($0.50) from each assessed surcharge to cover administrative processing expenses.

(e)

Scope. This section shall be effective throughout the county including those areas located within the boundaries of any municipality.
