§ 37-31. Duty of landowner, tenant, occupant to connect to system, to comply with regulations therefor.

  • Upon the construction of a public water or sewage disposal system under the provisions of this article, the owner, tenant or occupant of each lot or parcel of land which abuts upon a street or other public way containing a water system of a sanitary sewer, served or which may be served by such water system or sewage disposal system and upon which lot or parcel a building shall have been constructed for residential, commercial or industrial use, shall, if so required by the rules and regulations of the board of county commissioners, connect such building with such water system or sanitary sewer, and shall cease to use any other method for the disposal of sewage, sewage waste or other polluting matter. All such connections shall be made in accordance with rules and regulations which shall be adopted from time to time by the board of county commissioners, which rules and regulations may provide for a charge for making any such connection in such reasonable amount as the board of county commissioners may fix and establish.
