Article V. WATER AND WASTEWATER CONNECTION REQUIREMENTS FOR UNINCORPORATED ORANGE COUNTY |
§ 37-172. Definitions.
The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
Board shall mean the board of county commissioners of Orange County, Florida.
Central water system shall mean a water system located within unincorporated Orange County which is operated by a city, the county or a private company which is regulated and authorized as a PSC-certificated utility.
Central wastewater system shall mean a wastewater system located within unincorporated Orange County which is operated by a city, the county or a private company which is regulated and authorized as a PSC-certificated utility.
County shall mean Orange County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida.
Director shall mean the director of the Orange County Utilities Department or his or her authorized designee.
Entity shall mean an organization, public or private, that has a legal identity apart from its members.
Interim private wastewater treatment facilities shall mean those wastewater facilities to be constructed by an entity other than the county or a PSC-certificated utility, and operated on an interim, temporary basis until the wastewater flows treated thereby are permanently connected to a central wastewater system.
PSC shall mean the Public Service Commission as defined in Florida Statutes.
Sewage shall have the same meaning as "wastewater" and shall be interchangeable with "wastewater."
Wastewater shall mean a combination of the water-carried wastes from residences, commercial buildings, institutions, industrial establishments and other customers of the county wastewater system.
Wastewater package plant shall mean a prefabricated factory-assembled wastewater treatment unit or units generally used to treat smaller quantities of wastewater where a central wastewater system is not available.
