Latest version.
  • (a)

Attendance at or hosting of certain "working meals" and civic or community social occasions declared to constitute a valid public purpose. The board of county commissioners hereby finds a valid public purpose and a valid county purpose are served by expending reasonable sums of money for attendance at or hosting of "working meals" or civic or community social occasions or events by the board of county commissioners or the county executive branch and members of their respective staff. The board further finds that any private benefit accruing from such participation or attendance is only incidental and is outweighed by the primary public benefit.

County commissioners, the county chairman or the county administrator, from time to time, shall submit as approved for payment as a proper county expense such reasonable charges as may be incurred by or under the direction of the several commissioners, or the county chairman or the county administrator for participation in or hosting of "working meals" or civic or community social occasions or events at which their personal attendance or the attendance of their staff is required or advisable for the execution of county business or representation of the county.

Payment for such reasonable charges for participation in or hosting of such "working meals" and civic or community social occasions or events shall be made from such funds as may from time to time be appropriated for such purpose by the board of county commissioners.
