§ 2-434. Creation, purpose and membership of Orange County Transit Board.

  • (a)

    There is hereby created and established the Orange County Transit Board for the purpose of proposing and prioritizing transit and freight train mitigation projects to be undertaken pursuant to the transit systems plan and the project list.

    (b)

    The transit board shall initially be composed of three (3) members as follows:

    (1)

    The Orange County Chairman;

    (2)

    The mayor of the City of Orlando; and

    (3)

    The Secretary of District 5 of the Florida Department of Transportation.

    (c)

    The transit board shall (i) create, implement and manage the transit systems plan; (ii) propose and prioritize transit and freight train mitigation projects to be paid for with sales tax proceeds; and (iii) make recommendations regarding such projects to the governing board in accordance with the terms of the sales tax ordinance and the interlocal agreement.

    (d)

    A quorum of the transit board shall consist of at least two (2) members.
