§ 37-34. Deposit to accompany application for franchise; amount, purpose, use.

All applicants for a franchise under the provisions of this article shall be required to deposit with the board of county commissioners the sum of not less than five hundred dollars ($500.00) to be used by the board of county commissioners to investigate such franchise application and to defray the cost of publication and the cost of any appeal from the action of the board of county commissioners, including stenographic services for recording testimony upon the application and the preparation of a transcript of the proceedings at any hearing. Any excess of such deposit shall be paid into the general revenue fund of the county.
