§ 2-209. Orientation.
(a)
Except for a member of the board or the county chairman, each person who accepts appointment to an advisory board, the MMRB, the planning and zoning commission, the board of zoning adjustment, a charter review commission, a redistricting advisory committee, a lake advisory board, the citizens' transportation oversight board, or the aviation noise abatement committee shall attend an orientation session. Orientation sessions shall be provided semiannually following appointments to acquaint new advisory board members with topics including, but not limited to, the history and organization of the county government, the responsibilities of advisory board members, the purpose and function of advisory boards, "Government-in-the-Sunshine," ethics and financial disclosure, minutes and public records laws, and the county comprehensive policy plan.
(b)
County departments responsible for staffing specific advisory boards shall provide initial and ongoing training for members of those advisory boards.
